What inspires you to get out of bed in the mornings/afternoons?

My children, Lola & Ronan because if I don’t wake them up they would sleep all day! And finally following my dream to open a vintage store, combining it with my signage and design background. I also run my other business from there, Leed Creative. I gave up a successful 12 year business partnership to pursue this passion and it feels great. I am very fortunate to have lots of wonderful support from family and friends.

What was the last vintage item you bought

A few things at the same time. A giant faux pearl necklace and a couple of hats.

What is your favourite piece currently in store?

I can’t decide between a French beaded evening bag and a pair of cowboy boots!

Why/how’d you start Lola Rose Vintage and how did you come up with the name?

I have been a collector of all things vintage for about 20 years. I remember adoring some great vintage stores in Subiaco, the City and Northbridge, now all gone. I used to hang around a vintage store in Maylands a hell of a lot. I loved the whole feel of the shop and always pictured myself doing something like it. I love the buzz you get when you find treasure! There’s nothing like the thrill of the hunt and I love to rummage. I feel very at home in my shop, it’s small, only 21sqm in fact, and I named it after my daughter because it’s just such a beautiful name.
