The Straw House. Yes! Totally made out of straw and then rendered. So nice out in the bush!
The owner Carol had baked us a cake and it was waiting for us on the table when we got there…and it was AMAZING! So I thought I’d share it with you all.
300g butter
300g raw or demerara sugar
300g eggs (weighed in the shell)
150g SR flour
100g almond meal
50g cocoa powder
(total of dry ingrediants to add up to 300g)
Put everything into a big bowl and mix it all together thoroughly, but don’t beat it too much – just enough so that everything is well blended. Bake at about 150degC for about 1hr and 20mins – it all depends on your oven. Nothing worse than a dry cake so test to see how its going.
