Ah yes it was that time of year again…my feet were getting itchy and it was time to head out on the vintage hunt again. This time I chose Adelaide! Apart from a catch up, good barossa wine times and plenty of food, vintage shopping was well up there on my agenda.
First stop was Gilles Street markets (91 Gilles Street Adelaide, open 10am-4pm) on the Sunday! Awesome spot in a school ground with plenty of fabulous vintage bargains to be had as well as yummy food. I met heaps of radelaidians. So nice! www.gillestreetmarkets.com.au

My next day took me from Norwood (where I was staying with SA festival organiser Hels Orr. Check it out! Lilka Fest 2008) into the city. By foot I might add. Much easier if you have a car…but the weather was delicious so I had a great day!
Op Shops I visited: Goodies, Cnr Parade and Portrush Road, Beulah Park(had to hunt a bit but came up with the good in the end, cash only)
The Quaker Shop, 51 Kensington Road, Norwood (GREAT prices, got some good ones here, cash only)
Vinnies, 70 The Parade, Norwood (good stuff, a little pricey though, cash only)
My next mission was to find Adelaide vintage boutiques
Irving Baby is run my two sisters and there are two boutiques; one at 33 Twin Street Adelaide and the other at 83 Hindley Street, Adelaide. Fabulous gear, both new and vintage. PLUS they’ve just turned 16! Ah sweet 16! Prices are very reasonable, both shops are great and they accept credit card. This is me

Across the road from Irving Baby in Twin St is Purple Haze. After I got used to the incence I had a bit of a fossick. Prices are slightly higher and the shop is a little dark as it is underground but plenty to be found!

Last but not least was the Goodwill shop at 97 Hindley Street, Adelaide. They have an upstairs section with newer stuff and a downstairs section with older stuff (which is where I headed). Found some awesome stuff here at GREAT prices. $6 – $10 per dress. Cash and card.

Worth a mention:
Red Ruby Vintage, Peel Street off Hindley Street, Adelaide (it was closed by the time i got there)
Tangerine Treasures and Tea Rooms 1A Rose Street, Glenelg (high teas and fabulous vintage)
OVERALL: a car would’ve been great…either that or more time. But all in all there are some great treasures close to the city and within walking distance that won’t break the budget. The people are great!
and hey…the mall has balls!

Ah Radelaide!
bye bye
love Delilah
